“Papaya King” is coming to Anime Expo 2018
By The Author Next BigFuture has been publishing a weekly guide to the best and most anticipated anime and manga coming to the convention.
This week, we bring you “Papa Papaya King,” an anime-themed arcade game starring a papaya named Papaya.
The game was recently adapted into a live-action television movie by the Japanese animation company Nippon Animation, which is currently airing in Japan.
The game has been nominated for several awards, including the 2014 Best Anime Award at the Anime Expo’s Golden Week event, and has been selected for the 2014 Eisner Award for Best Animation.
The PapayaKing arcade game features over 30 papaya characters that you can use to help your papaya grow into a giant papaya.
In this installment of the Papaya Kings series, we’ll talk with artist Andres Gallegos about his experience making this papaya-themed game.
“Papayas are very small animals and papayas eat little insects,” Gallegas said.
“So I thought, ‘Hey, what if we make papayahs a giant, but they also eat insects?'”
The game’s story is based on Papaya Kingdom, the series that inspired Papaya in The Simpsons.
The story is told from the perspective of the papayah family and their papayahuas, who all live in a village and work together to raise papayakas.
Papayah characters are also portrayed by Japanese animators.
The Papaya King arcade game is available for pre-order right now, and the arcade will be in the Papayas Area of the Expo, located at the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The anime Papaya Empire, which was adapted into an animated film by Nippo Animation, will be on display throughout the convention, which runs from September 15 through September 21.
